Jeffrey Daijiro Taylor (b. 1999).

My name is Jeffrey Daijiro Taylor, and I am a music composer, audio designer, and project coordinator. I have composed music for films, video games, and various media, alongside maintaining a personal library of original works. In the audio realm, I have experience as a film post-production audio mixer, sound designer, and audio programmer. Most recently, I held a full-time position as a project coordinator on the audio description team at Deluxe Media in Burbank, CA. As one of the largest post-production companies in the world, Deluxe Media specializes in film and video game audio mastering, localization, cinema, and distribution.

In college, I earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition with Magna Cum Laude honors from Ithaca College’s School of Music. Two of my significant works during this time were “Dreams Beyond Earth” for orchestra and “The Mist” for SSAATTBB choir. “Dreams Beyond Earth” was selected as the winner of the college’s prestigious best orchestral composition competition, judged by Pulitzer Prize and Grammy-nominated composer Fredrik Kaufmann.

Since graduating college, I’ve managed a diverse array of music composition and audio design projects while also working as a project coordinator. Most recently, at Deluxe, I had the honor of serving as the Audio Description Coordinator for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Shadows. Thanks to my team's efforts, Shadows is set to become one of the few video games fully accessible to the blind and low-vision community. As a freelancer, I composed music and handled post-production audio mixing for Moments Fleeting, which won an award from the prestigious Directors Guild of America. Additionally, I contributed as an audio mixer for the short documentary Kowloon, which received the Honorable Mention for Best Short Doc at Palm Springs Shortfest.

Deluxe Media - Project Coordinator for the Audio Description Dept. (Sept. 2022 - Sept. 2024)
Audio description is an accessibility format for film and games designed for blind and low-vision individuals, functioning like subtitles for those who cannot see the screen. It enables users to enjoy media through narration, similar to listening to an audiobook. In my role, I managed the workflow, calendar, and files for multiple TV shows and films, coordinating efforts between audio mixers, voice actors, and screenwriters throughout the average project cycle.

Job Details:
- Prep and format audio & video files (AAF, Pro-Res, MXF etc.) for Pro Tools mixing sessions.
- Communicate costs, workflow & security standards with studios like Ubisoft, Disney and Warner Bros.
- Ensure mixes meet client mastering specs (ATMOS, 7.1, 5.1 & Stereo LUFS & TP levels) 
- Softwares regularly used include: Pro Tools, VMWare (cloud server), Excel, Teams, Jira, Slack, Outlook.
